Infinera has named Srikanth (Sri) Hosakote as senior vice president, head of engineering, responsible for leading the Infinera Systems Engineering organization. Hosakote will provide critical leadership as Infinera continues to enhance its Intelligent Transport Network portfolio with additional packet switching, software and virtualization capabilities. 

With more than 24 years of business, technology, and management experience, Hosakote brings to Infinera a track record of advancing engineering organizations responsible for routing, optical transport, cloud networking and storage solutions built for the world's largest service providers. He has been involved in the development of industry-leading and disruptive products, including Cisco's Carrier Routing System (CRS) core router and its Aggregation Services Edge Router ASR9000.

Prior to joining Infinera, Hosakote was the executive vice president and general manager for cloud systems and solutions at Seagate. There, he was responsible for the creation and delivery of OEM and branded storage systems, with an emphasis on software-defined storage products and technology. Prior to Seagate, Hosakote served in various leadership roles at Cisco Systems, including senior vice president for the switching business in the Data Center Group. Hosakote serves on several advisory boards, including Mobile Force and Prodapt. Hosakote earned a MS in Computer Science and a MBA in Technology Management.
