IO has announced the appointment of Bob Olson as its chief customer officer (CCO). In this role, Olson will lead the global sales, marketing, and human resources teams to drive customer-led growth.

“Bob brings a strong combination of sales, marketing and financial expertise that will help our customers fully leverage our products, services and solutions globally,” said George Slessman, chief executive officer and product architect at IO. “As IO continues to grow and develop technology to anticipate and solve customer problems, it is critical that we have a strong leader to give voice to our purpose and our customers. Bob’s unique qualifications as an experienced leader and strategist made him the obvious choice to serve in this important role at IO.”

Olson brings a wide range of executive and senior leadership experience within the high tech, Internet and financial services industries. He’s served for companies ranging from early stage start-ups to established billion dollar businesses.

Prior to joining IO, Olson was chief customer officer at The GoDaddy Group, Inc. where he was responsible for sales, professional services, customer marketing and support. Bob also served in leadership roles at Rearden Commerce, Intuit, Homestead Technologies and ING.

“IO is an industry game changer. The traditional data center is physically defined and static. IO is transforming it into a software-defined, dynamic model that’s agile and capable of sustainable scale,” Olson said. “It’s a very exciting opportunity to help customers realize the value of partnering with IO.”
