SoftNAS has announced a No Downtime Guarantee Program for SoftNAS customers running on Amazon Web Services (AWS).  The program guarantees a 99.999% uptime service level agreement (SLA) for SoftNAS Cloud software and storage services. SoftNAS customers on AWS will benefit from this protection when operating with production workloads within SoftNAS best practices.

As one of numerous SoftNAS and AWS joint customers, Carbon Media Group, a leading producer of outdoor online content reaching 500 websites, continues to experience a robust return on investment. “Faced with a potential interruption, we were able to avoid any downtime or financial loss because SoftNAS performed flawlessly during the zone reboot process,” said Rick Christy, vice president and chief architect of Carbon Media Group. “We never went down. The solution paid for and justified itself.”

"Very short recovery times and very high availability are becoming target service-level attributes for a growing number of enterprise applications in many organizations. In the evolution of digital business over the next three years, these attributes will transition from being highly desirable targets to absolutely must-have essentials. They will be essential contributors in meeting the challenges of sustaining brand loyalty and brand value, especially in a world in which changing providers can be as simple a task as switching apps,” said Roberta Witty, vice president in Gartner Research, et al.1

Anxieties around data loss and downtime are a paramount IT concern, as a recent study on data protection by Vanson Bourne showed. Of surveyed enterprises, 64% experienced data loss or downtime in the past year, and 71% were not confident in their ability to recover after a disruption. Despite backup and disaster recovery protocols, downtime consequences on businesses can be severe.

“We strive to offer our customers peace of mind as they use SoftNAS and AWS. The money-back guarantee of one month of SoftNAS service fees is offered to prove our commitment to quality, business stability and the enterprise-grade reliability available today from cloud computing,” said Rick Braddy, CEO, SoftNAS.

To qualify for the No Downtime Guarantee program, SoftNAS customers must: run a minimum version of 3.2.2, implement SNAP HA with best practices, and register the product.
