Unite Private Networks (UPN) has announced the deployment of a fully protected 4x100 Gigabit wavelength service in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro. The project will support one of DFW’s largest retailers.

UPN’s new infrastructure will span over 100 miles on a dedicated fiber-optic ring, extending the company’s network throughout Fort Worth, Texas, and will connect to the newly built Peak 10 + ViaWest data center in Plano, Texas.

“100 Gigabit service provides greater bandwidth and faster processing for applications such as storage networking, real time financial transactions, and the latest cloud connectivity solutions,” said Blair Pierce, content account director, Unite Private Networks. “Now more than ever we are seeing an increased need to support bandwidth-intensive applications for our customers across all UPN markets. With our wavelength service customers can enjoy nearly unlimited bandwidth, with low latency capabilities to meet their ever-growing demand.”

“Our customers are managing increasingly complex network requirements, which is why it’s important to us to deliver the most comprehensive set of connectivity services in the industry,” said Tom Myers, regional vice president, Peak 10 + ViaWest. “With the deployment of our 100Gb network backbone with connectivity partners like UPN, our customers are able to select the network capacity that fits their needs and take advantage of significant network federation capabilities.”
