In response to increasing enterprise demand for hybrid IT solutions, QTS Realty Trust has announced that Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect is now available at its Chicago data center. Yesterday, AWS announced the availability of the US East (Ohio) Region to customers looking to build businesses and run applications on infrastructure on the AWS Cloud.

By offering AWS Direct Connect, QTS can reduce customers’ data-transfer costs, further strengthen network security, and provide consistent network performance and scalable bandwidth. QTS Chicago customers will have a dedicated network connection to the AWS Direct Connect node. As a result, QTS Chicago provides redundant connectivity options, and can address enterprises’ data center, managed hosting and cloud connectivity needs and support services under one roof.  

QTS continues to invest in its hybrid cloud portfolio by adding solutions supporting access to AWS and other cloud providers. Currently, QTS offers cloudConnect at each of its locations and gives customers the ability to have a private VLAN connection between any QTS data center and the nearest AWS Point of Presence (POP).
