Interxion Holding NV has announced that Deluxe Entertainment Services Group has deployed its cloud-based broadcast services platform, Deluxe LeapCloud™, in Interxion’s London and Amsterdam data centers. The Interxion Digital Media team will be at International Broadcasting Convention Europe 2013 (IBC) in Amsterdam with Alec Stichbury, Deluxe LeapCloud CTO to discuss how Interxion’s data centers enable exceptional service delivery for LeapCloud customers.

Founded nearly 100 years ago as an entertainment services provider, Deluxe has played a pivotal role in the production, management and distribution of broadcast video content. Further building out the service provider’s ecosystem of content production, distribution and management solutions, Deluxe LeapCloud leverages orchestration, asset management and content delivery tools, combined with a playout platform, all housed in geographically diverse Tier III data centers, to help broadcasters set up and manage new television channels anywhere in the world with only a web browser and a network connection. Deluxe’s platform represents a significant and innovative departure from broadcasters’ traditional approach to managing and distributing broadcast content in that it leverages off-site infrastructure instead of in-house resources to lower CAPEX and deliver extensive inventory control and flexibility, without sacrificing security, availability or operational efficiencies.

In order to support its newest platform offering, and to extend its global promise of a resilient online environment for customers in Europe, Deluxe sought out a colocation provider that could meet the company’s demand for capacity, high performance, unwavering connectivity and cost optimization.

“When we did our research, Interxion came out head and shoulders above everyone else,” said Alec Stichbury, CTO at Deluxe LeapCloud. “Their award-winning, accredited data centers give us plenty of capacity to scale LeapCloud installations or expand to other European locations, and also support disaster recovery across multiple sites — traditionally considered an expensive luxury in the broadcast market. Plus, Interxion’s data centers are home to all the main fiber-based media contribution networks, a growing community of satellite service providers and over 450 carriers, providing our customers with the best possible options to acquire live broadcast streams and ingest media files. Supporting all of these capabilities, Interxion’s dedicated digital media team understands what we want to achieve and is ready and able to support that vision.”

“Deluxe knew that they would need a data center partner with strong digital media expertise to support this market-leading broadcast platform,” said Julian Wheeler, strategy and marketing director, digital media, Interxion. “But, what really set Interxion apart was our added ability to house and develop Deluxe’s new cloud-based services. Our data centers are well-suited to support cloud platforms and applications like Deluxe LeapCloud through our content and Cloud Hubs, which offer not only multi-layered security and power but also excellent connectivity options to optimize content distribution performance. Because Deluxe is delivering the highest quality broadcast content to sites across the globe, that level of performance is not just a ‘nice to have’ — it’s critical for success.”
