Mission Critical is proud to announce the promotion of Caroline Fritz and the addition of Shawn Conaway to its editorial team.

Editor Caroline Fritzassumes the role after four successful years as Mission Criticalmanaging editor. She brings 14 years of BtoB publication experience to her new position, including more than a decade as associate and managing editor of sister publication Engineered Systems.

"I’m excited to take on my new role as editor of Mission Critical,” Fritz said. “I look forward to not only the challenges of the position, but the opportunities as well."

Data center veteran Shawn Conaway also joins Mission Critical as associate editor. Mr. Conaway has more than 15 years of experience in the information technology field and is currently a Data Center Operations Manager in the healthcare industry. Conaway has created the virtualization magazineVirtualize!, and has contributed to publications including Technical Support Magazine, Network Support Magazine, C-NET, and others.

“Mission Critical has a great history,” Conaway said. “I’m excited to apply my experience managing multiple data centers to improve an already impressive brand.”

Together, Fritz and Conaway will evolve Mission Critical's tight mechanical and facilities focus to a broad scope publication that includes site selection, virtualization, and cloud computing. Conaway will continue speaking at data center conferences and will write a new Site Selection column beginning with the March/April issue.

In addition to Mission Critical strategy, Conaway will begin developing a new cloud computing publication targeted for early fall. The new brand will focus on cloud strategies and cloud services including software-as-a-service (SaaS), infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), and platform-as-a-service (PaaS).
